Hello Swimmers!

Welcome new swimmers and families. We have new things happening this season including two new coaches on deck!

Meet the Coaches:

Hi, I’m Kayla Cresap and I will be the head coach for this season (and for many more to come =]).   This will be my first year as a head coach, but I've had the pleasure of being Stacia’s assistant coach back in ’09 and ’10. For those of you who don’t know me, I joined North Shore Swim Club (NSSC) when I was in fourth grade, was on the CEC swim team 5-12^th grade, hold the 400 freestyle relay record (along with the assistant coach), assistant coach for 2 years, hosted multiple swim camps through CCE (2yrs), Water Safety instructor (6 ½ yrs), Lifeguard (7 yrs) and Lifeguard Instructor (2 ½ yrs), and Aquatics Coordinator for Cloquet Community Education.  I enjoy reading, archery, and spending time with my family. Elizabeth Litke: Hi! My name is Liz Litke and I'm excited to be the assistant coach this year for the CEC swim team. I joined the CEC swim team when I was in eighth grade, and swam all through high school. I continued my swimming career in college at St. Mary's College, in Notre Dame, Indiana, where I served as a co-captain my senior year. My favorite event was the 200 breast stroke. I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish in 2013, and spent the last year teaching second grade in Ghana, Africa. I have experience as a lifeguard and water safety instructor. In the summers I love to water ski and go on bike rides, and I will be an elementary school teacher in the area this coming school year. I can't wait for the swim season to start!

Swim Camp Information:

Where: Cloquet Middle School Herb Drew Pool

When: June 9 – July 25^th (no camp June 30^th- July 6^th)

Time: 9:30-11:30AM, MON-WED-FRI

What to bring: Swim suit (one piece only), towel, goggles, workout clothes, and running shoes

Fee: $95.00
July 7th-25th fee: $50

Summer Practice

Girls Swim - practice starts on Monday August 11^th at the Cloquet Middle School pool at 8AM. We will have a quick introductory meeting the first day and then practice will run from 8-12PM, Monday –Friday until school starts. We will start with a hour of dry-land practice and end with 2 1/2 hours of swim practice. There will be a half hour break.  7^th-12^th graders who are interested should come to practice with running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, a one piece swim suit, a swim cap and goggles. The team will not make cuts unless it is decided by the coaches that it is necessary. If you have any questions, please contact Kayla Cresap.

Thanks for Everything!

Hello ladies! As many of you already know, I will not be coaching you all next year. My husband and I moved last winter and I am not longer able to make the commute daily. I am passing the torch to Kayla Cresap. She is very involved in the aquatics community in Cloquet, she is a former Lumberjack swimmer and was also my awesome assistant for my first 2 years!

I had a ton of fun as your coach and I am going to miss seeing you everyday this fall.

Work hard this summer and get ready to make your 2014 even better then the last!
